Introduction
According to the official media, Radio Television Brunei on 24th August 2005, the Office of the Private and Confidential Secretary to His Majesty Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam confirmed that His Majesty conducted "pernikahan" (marriage) with Puan Azrinaz Mazhar binti Hakim Mazhar in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Saturday, 16th Rejab 1426 corresponding to 20th August, 2005.
Ms. Azrinaz Mazhar Hakim Mazhar, 26, or fondly known as Naz started her work as a broadcast journalist with TV3 in 1997 after completing her diploma in broadcasting from the Malaysia Institute of Integrative Media (MIIM).
She, who won TV3's Most Promising Journalist Award in 2000 and MIIM Alumni Award in 2002, used to appear on the Buletin Pagi, Berita Terkini and Buletin 1.30.
She quit TV3 in May 2005 saying that she wanted to "venture into other undertakings."

Birth Of A Prince
Bandar Seri Begawan - By command of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, YAM Pengiran Penggawa Laila Bentara Istiadat Diraja Dalam Istana Pengiran Hj Alauddin bin Pengiran Paduka Tuan Pengiran Hj Abu Bakar, Grand Chamberlain, announced that YTM Azrinaz Mazhar binti Hakim Mazhar has safely given birth to a prince on Thursday, 4th Jamadilawal, 1427 Hijrah corresponding to June 1, 2006 at 12.43am.
In conjunction with the birth, a 21-cannon salute was fired at the vicinity of the Istana Nurul Iman.

His Majesty Confers Royal Title
Bandar Seri Begawan - The following statement was issued last night by the Office of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
By command of His Majesty Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Chairman of the Council of Mesyuarat Adat Istiadat of Brunei Darussalam, hereby announces to all subjects and residents of Brunei Darussalam that with effect from today, Friday 12th of Jamadilawal, 1427 corrresponding to June 9, 2006, His Majesty is pleased to confer His Majesty's wife, Yang Teramat Mulia Azrinaz Mazhar binti Hakim Mazhar with the title "Her Royal Highness Pengiran Isteri Azrinaz Mazhar".

Sultan names new Prince
Bandar Seri Begawan - By command of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Grand Chamberlain YAM Pengiran Penggawa Laila Bentara Istiadat Diraja Dalam Istana Pengiran Hj Alauddin bin Pengiran Paduka Tuan Pengiran Hj Abu Bakar has announced that His Majesty has with great pleasure named his newborn son, Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Duli Pengiran Muda 'Abdul Wakeel ibni Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Muizzaddin Waddaulah.
In a statement from Istana Nurul Iman, His Majesty and YTM Azrinaz Mazhar binti Hakim Mazhar as well as other members of the royal family thanked everyone who were involved during the birth of the prince and also to those who have sent congratulatory messages.
HRH Pengiran Muda 'Abdul Wakeel was born on Thursday, 4th Jamadilawal, 1427 Hijrah corresponding to June 1, 2006 at 12.43am.

Sultan Divorces 2nd Wife

Bandar Seri Begawan - His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has divorced his wife, Her Royal Highness Pengiran Isteri Azrinaz Mazhar Binti Hakim Mazhar with a single ‘talak'.
It took effect yesterday, 3rd Rejab 1431 of Muslim Calendar corresponding to June 16, 2010.
This was announced by the Grand Chamberlain, YAM Pengiran Penggawa Laila Bentara Istiadat Diraja Dalam Istana Pengiran Hj Alauddin bin Pengiran Paduka Tuan Pengiran Hj Abu Bakar in a special announcement televised live over the RTB 8pm news last night.
The announcement mentioned that with the consent of His Majesty, effective June 16, 2010 all royal titles, state decorations and honorary medals bestowed on her have been withdrawn.
The special announcement reads: "By command of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, His Royal Highness Prince Hj Sufri Bolkiah, Chairman of Adat Istiadat Council hereby informs that His Majesty, due to special reasons, driven and guided by Syara' laws in the matters of marriage and divorce and in line with the excerpts of Surah Al-Baqarah of the Quran and part of the verses 229 which reads marriage in a proper way (ma'aruf) and also dissolve in a proper way (ihsan) has divorced his wife with a single `Talak'.
