International Seminar on Tobacco or Health (ISTob)
About ISTob
Under its Knowledge Agenda (collation, development, and dissemination of knowledge for the betterment of the Ummah), the State Mufti's Office, Prime Minister's Office of Brunei Darussalam, with the collaboration of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health, organised the International Seminar on Tobacco or Health in conjunction with the New Hijrah Year of 1423.
The International Seminar on Tobacco or Health was the first event of its kind organized by any Government in the region, and possibly in the world.
The following events made up ISTob:

Objective
ISTob's main objective was to educate and increase awareness on healthcare by focusing on the questions and ill-effects tobacco poses to society, and a vision of a new hope for healthier future leaders.
Venue
ISTob was held at the State Mufti's Office Complex, a new building inaugurated by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on August 18, 2001. The complex has played host to the 1st International Islamic Expo in 2001, and is equipped with modern facilities and sufficient space for this event.
